Last Wednesday, when we got home from office, we drop in to a traditional market, Palmerah market to buy some veggie. Suddenly, I saw a fermented soybean cake seller beside the veggie seller, and when I came to her..wooouw..surprise, she sold a thin fermented soybean cake names tempe mendoan in Java, actually it's rare to be sold.
Mendoan, the taste of it always make us yearn for home, it is originally Banyumas ( a place in Java) food..
Almost every home in Banyumas area served it as their daily food, and we can find it easily in any restaurant there.
Although my bloved hubby comes from Toraya, but he loves mendoan so much. The first that he ate was my bloved mom's home made mendoan. For those who never taste it, you really really should try it, eaten lukewarmly with sliced cilli poured with kecap (soybean liquid)...hmmmmm...really yummy.
And it's very easy to made it.
You just have to provide :
5 a thin fermented soybean cake ( tempe mendoan )
100 gr wheat flour
100 ml water
200 ml oil (to fry )
50 gr diced daun bawang
To be smoothed :
1 sp ketumbar
1 sp salt
2 garlic
The sauce :
diced chilli
soybean liquid (ketjup)
Mix wheat flour in a bowl with water, put the smoothed spices, stirr it well. add put diced daun bawang, stirr it again. Put 1 thin fermented soybean cake.
Heat the oil in a jar, after the oil is hot, put thin fermented soybean cake that already cover with mixed wheat flour. Fry it half done.
Then serve it with the sauce. Really yummy...ymm.ymm.ymmm
My bloved hubby could ate it all by a second.
